About Emily Strickland

Emily is an associate in our antitrust, competition and trade practice, based in Washington, DC. Emily advises clients on a variety of antitrust issues, including in merger investigations before the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

Prior to joining Freshfields, Emily was a legal intern at both the DOJ and FTC. Before law school, Emily worked in strategy consulting and M&A advisory for clients in aerospace, defense and technology markets.

Recent work

  • Coupa on its $8bn sale to Thoma Bravo.
  • Roivant Sciences on (a) its $7.1bn sale of Telavant, the developer of IBS treatments, and (b) its $1.2bn sale of Dermavant, the developer of immuno-dermatology treatments.
  • Aristocrat Leisure in the $1.2bn acquisition of NeoGames, a content and technology provider for the online real money gaming industry.
  • Japan Tobacco Inc. on its $2.4bn acquisition of Vector Group Ltd., the fourth largest tobacco company in the United States.
  • Novartis on its exclusive strategic license agreement with Arvinas, Inc., a clinical-stage biotechnology company.
  • The committee of independent directors of the board of Qualtrics in the $12.5B all-cash sale to a consortium of Silver Lake and CPPIB.
